Who the heck are we?

Our current configuration is a two person juggernaut. We work together on just about everything. Some of you may know me from PatternReview.com where my screen name is Melody (just like my real name, how lucky!) I've been a member there since Hector was a pup and before that I was over on SewingWorld and About.com. On Craftster, I'm MissMelody. And of course, there's my blog where I just go on and on crazedsewer.blogspot.com Anyway, I've wanted to do this for so, so long but I had all this other life stuff in the way so I waited and built my relationship with my vendors (over the last 10 years) I left my big job and I started working at Hancock fabrics for a time, then I worked for a local sewing machine store, all the while learning about the business and learning that I love, love, love customer service. My favorite times at the stores were talking to the customers about what they were making and what they hoped to make. Finally, by Christmas of 2006, the time seemed right to open this store so I set to work on it. It took 5 months but now here we are and here we'll stay, come hell or high water.

Now, for the important stuff:

Shipping Information:

We use UPS and USPS Priority Mail for shipping, I've tried to include a variety so that you can use the cheapest shipping possible. Email or call me if you have any questions. Michigan shoppers, I've included a local shipping option and International shoppers, email me. Burda Magazine, any patterns and small items like purse supplies or notions can be shipped in a small box so please choose "magazine/pattern" from the shipping drop down menu. Items that will not fit in a small postal box or flat envelope fall into the $8 flat rate shipping. You must choose the correct option, we have in the past refunded the amount when the incorrect option was chosen, however, due to a number of problems we've had with that method (such as double refunds) we cannot continue that practice. The flat rate of $8 is generally less than the actual shipping charge except in some cases. So please choose your correct shipping method.

CUSTOMER SERVICE PLEDGE: We'll never be jerks. We won't cut your fabric into a million pieces and then charge you a restocking fee when you return it. We'll never even have restocking fees. We promise to ship your order out promptly, we ship every business day, not just Monday or Friday. If there are any problems with your order, we make every attempt to contact you. We really are happy to have you as our customer. Thank you for choosing us.

When does my order ship?

Orders ship within 24-48 hours, including weekends but usually that same day. I'll let you know if I'm going to be away and unable to ship.

What is your refund policy?

First email me within 7 days for a return authorization. Fabric must be uncut, unwashed and free of odors or pet damage. Hardware and patterns must be in original condition. Upon receipt of your return, allow 10-15 business days to process your return and credit your account. The credit will be processed against your original form of payment. You'll be notified via e-mail once your return has been processed. Please note that the original shipping charge is non-refundable.

If you sell out of a fabric or pattern that I like, will you get it in again?

Yes and no. Most of the fabrics we bring to you are unique and in short supply. Just enough for a few like minded aesthetes. The patterns are vintage and even some new-ish ones are hit and miss. I list what I have and that's most likely it. I will restock hardware items and some fabrics. I usually consult the current fashion to see what all my fashionable sewing friends are thinking about making. I like to choose good quality fabrics that will wear well once sewn. I like to think of myself as your personal fabric schlepper.

Do you accept checks and money orders?

Yes you can either use the Paypal option or you can email me your order and shipping preference and I will send you a return email with a total and where to send the check or money order.
